The events of this story present a wide range of exciting situations experienced by a man working as a press photographer. It seems that things are about to collapse for this man who is fighting in the face of reality. It's the story of a news photographer trying to save his career when he is accused of forging a photo of his award-winning image. There may be more challenges, but that man is trying to plan for all those conflicts against him.
There are interesting dichotomies explored in Chimerica... However, while Kirkwood's witty dialogue keeps the pace whipping along, the drama is not without its clichés.
The series ending is fantastic, as is the lesson (vague spoiler alert) that you can see a photograph, but not entirely understand it. Three stars for the opening episode, but four overall.
The two narratives seem oddly grafted, diverging in tone, but writer Lucy Kirkwood deserves some credit for not merely sticking to a western perspective.
