Renesmee Carlie Cullen was born on September 11, 2006. She is the daughter of Bella and Edward Cullen. Her name Renesmee is derived from the names of Bella's mother Renee, and Edward's adoptive mother Esme. Her middle name Carlie is derived from the names of Bella's father Charlie, and Edward's adoptive father Carlisle. She is half human and half vampire and physically ages rapidly until a certain point in her life when she will no longer develop, but remain in that physical form.After her birth, Jacob Black imprinted on her. He then became Renesmee's friend and guardian.When Bella, Jacob and Renesmee go hunting, Irina orginally comes to make peace with the Cullens and she sees Renesmee running with Bella and Jacob by her side and Irina mistakens her for an immortal child; the creation of which is the highest crime under the Volturi law as immortal children are not allowed to live because of their incapable nature to control their thirst. The Volturi reach Forks intent on killing Renesmee, but when Irina believes she made a mistake, they immediately execute her, but still aren't sure whether or not the hybrid is dangerous.Alice and Jasper arrive with a half-breed called Nahuel. He tells the Volturi that half-breeds pose no threat to the vampire world. Renesmee has a specific gift of getting into a person's mind and showing them her memories and images she has seen. She is the only person to be somewhat inside Bella's mind. Renesmee has the opposite of her parent's powers. One of the powers is that she can show her thoughts, what she is feeling, memories and images she sees, projecting them into another person's mind by touching them, which is the opposite of her father's gift; that being his ability to hear other people's thoughts. She doesn't need to show her thoughts by touching him as he can hear her thoughts. This is the opposite of her mother's power, which is a mental shield that can protect her mind by blocking out every attempt from others to get in, particularly Edward's mind reading powers, and the mental attack attempts made by those in the Volturi.Renesmee is the only one who can break through Bella's mental defenses to project into her mother's mind what she is feeling, her memories and images she sees. It is unknown how she has the capability to do this.It is also unknown whether or not she can bear children in the future.
