Ayelborne was the de facto leader of the Organians when Kirk and Spock visited their world in 2266. He and his companions presented themselves as simple peasants, but were actually non-corporeal beings, extremely long-lived and possessing a wide array of other powers. Ayelborne, perhaps with the assistance of others of his race, immobilized both the Federation and Klingon fleets by causing all weapons to radiate an apparent temperature of 350 degrees, and later by deactivating their power sources. He could appear in several places at once, make himself undetectable to observers, and (it is implied) possessed many other abilities. He described the Organians as reaching a state similar to humans millions of years earlier, but evolving far beyond that, eventually surpassing the need for physical bodies and material objects. All objects on their world were mere appearance created to make interaction with less advanced beings possible. Show less «
