Recognized by China Movie Chanel and 1905.com as a rising star in the Chinese action film sector, Jane Wu is now emerging as one to watch in the US market. With a role in the upcoming Paramount film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" and a cameo in "Marvel's Captain America: Civil War," Wu is expanding her success in China to the global market. Wu can first be seen co-starring in the Chinese-American short film "A Children's Song," which she co-produced alongside Sid Ganis, China Movie Channel (CCTV 6) and 1905 Pictures. The film is based on a true story and tales of the more than 20,000 Jewish refugees living in Shanghai during World War II.In 2001, while living in Beijing, Wu was encouraged to participate in a search to find the next Chinese female Kung Fu actress. Wu beat out 3000 others contestants which began her career in film and in 2014 she was voted "The Top Spy Action Film Actress" by China Movie Media.Having trained intensively in martial arts at the Shao Lin Temple as well as kickboxing with renowned coaches, Wu set out to further challenge herself. By the beginning of 2015, Wu began her boxing training under American professional boxer and coach Julian Chua. In 2015, Wu also formally apprenticed to Hollywood's martial artist director Jing Li, who trained under the same master as Jet Li. Wu's intensive training with Li covers numerous styles of martial arts, including traditional Long Fist. Giving her background, Jane Wu strives to break new ground for Asian female martial artists fighting for their careers in Hollywood.Wu currently divides her time between Beijing and Los Angeles.
