Emma Louise Carter was born in Melbourne, Australia to Myra (Jacobs) a psychologist and Stephen Carter, a business executive. She found her love for acting at a young age performing at school concerts. Although initially she was afraid of singing in public she overcame her fear by playing Mrs Corney in the musical Oliver. Emma studied Creative Arts Drama at Deakin University, Melbourne Australia where she received an award for Dramatic Excellence. She left Australia to study at California State University Long Beach in 2009 where she studied Theatre Arts. She worked on such techniques as the Stanislavski system, the Psycho-Physical work of Michael Chekhov and Commedia Dell'Arte.In 2012 she moved to Toronto Canada where she successful auditioned for The Second City Conservatory Program. Having performed in sketch festivals and on the Second City stage she developed a love for comedy and writing. In 2014, she appeared in ABCs of Death Part Two directed by American director Vincenzo Natali which featured in numerous international film festivals around the world.She travels frequently between Australia, Canada and the US. She spreads her time between theatre, TV and film.
